NewerTech Introduces miniStack NAS Hard Drive |
August 17, 2007- Newer Technology, Inc. on Tuesday announced its miniStack NAS Network Attached Storage shared portable hard drive. Following the release of the miniStack v3 Quad 1TB external drive last June, the new miniStack NAS can hold 750 GB of digital photos, digital video, MP3s, and other personal data. It retails for $129.99 and currently can be purchased online. Acting as a main work hub center, the storage device is able to connect up to 20 users, both Mac and PC, via USB and Ethernet connection. miniStack NAS has a “6 times faster performance rate than older PC file sharing-based technologies,” stated the company press release. It can maintain data speeds of 100Mb per second with an Ethernet connection or 480Mb/s with a USB 2.0 connection. The miniStack NAS includes security functions for confidential information, according to the release. Users can set levels of read and write privileges. NAS technology renders the device “invisible” from possible hackers. miniStack NAS miniStack is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and higher and Windows 2000 and higher. The NewerTech miniStack is available at macsales.com and through select retailers. |
