MiniStack Drive Now Includes Backup Software

February 14, 2007 (MacCentral) -- Newer Technology Inc. on Tuesday announced a revision to their miniStack V2, an external hard disk drive. The drive now includes Prosoft Engineering's Data Backup II software.

The miniStack V2 is especially designed to complement the Mac mini, working as a zero footprint drive, but it's compatible with any Mac. In includes three USB 2.0 ports (plus an uplink port) and three FireWire 400 ports.

Newer offers the miniStack V2 in capacities from 80GB to 750GB, priced from $114.99 to $449. The company also offers an "add your own hard drive" version for $69.

Along with software, the drive comes with FireWire and USB 2.0 connecting cables and Intech HD Speedtools software.
