Mac peripheral maker Newer Technology on Tuesday introduced a new quad interface hard drive docking station.

Called the NewerTech Voyager, the device allows users to dock any 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard drive. You can then plug the dock into your computer via the FireWire 800, 400, USB 2.0, or eSATA port and access the contents of the disk.

Newer says the device is ideal for storage archives, professional photographers and videographers, but it also has another practical purpose. If you're ever had a computer failure where the hard drive itself is fine, you can now access that data.

The NewerTech Voyager costs US$99.95 and is available immediately from the companies Web site.
