Dear Depleted: A couple of manufacturers sell replacement batteries for the various iPod models. My favorites are the NuPower batteries from Newer Technologies. These hold a significantly longer charge than the stock iPod batteries. They're available from Other Word Computing (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ipod/batteryreplacement), they come with detailed instructions and the tools needed, and the site has very good video instructions on how to make the replacement.

If you don't want to do it yourself, you can send your iPod to OWC and they'll pop in the new battery and ship it back within 72 hours.
